Rutherford Democrats partner with COVID-19 rental relief program
The Rutherford County Democratic Party (RCDP) is a community partner with the Rutherford County COVID-19 Rental Relief program which started taking applications on March 8.
The program is funded through the U.S. Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and provides rent and utility assistance to prevent eviction and homelessness due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Rutherford County government has received almost $10 million dollars to help those that meet the program requirements with back rent/utility and future rent.
The RCDP launched the Housing Help Project today to accept calls and emails to help those in Rutherford County navigate applying for rental relief. The RCDP does not have any involvement with the approval or disbursement of funds, but they are proud to be a community partner and are ready to help with the application process.
“Rutherford County Democrats are very excited to be a community partner to our county government as they administer almost $10 million dollars in rent and utility assistance in our communities,” said RCDP Chair Kelly Northcutt. “This program has the potential of stabilizing families and the local housing market, preventing homelessness, and relieving some of the stress faced by Rutherford families, caused by the pandemic’s effect on employment.”
To contact the RCDP for help in completing the application, please email [email protected] or call 615.270.8543
