Voting in Rutherford County

Voting Requirements:

You must be a U.S. Citizen, age 18 by Election Day with an approved photo I.D., you must not be convicted of a felony or if you have your voting rights must have been restored, you must be a Registered Voter. 

2018 VOTER INFORMATION FOR RUTHERFORD COUNTY

Register/Verify/Change your address ONLINE at GoVoteTN.com at least 30 days before election date.   Completed Voter Registration forms can be delivered in person or mailed to

the Election Commission Office at 1 South Public Square, Room 103, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 with a 49 cent stamp.   Ph. 615-898-7743.   

You must have acceptable state or federal photo ID, be a U.S. citizen, a TN resident, be at least 18 years old on or before election date, and have not been convicted of a felony.

ELECTION DATES

January 25, 2018 - Special Election Primary for State Senate District 14 - VOTE AT ANY of the 13 VOTE CENTERS ON ELECTION DAY.  Early voting January 5 - January 20, 2018.  (CLOSED January 15 for Martin Luther King holiday.)  EARLY VOTE ONLY at Sports Com (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Election Commission Office (7 a.m. - 7 p.m.)   Register by December 27, 2017.

March 13, 2018 - Special General Election for State Senate District 14 - VOTE AT ANY of the 13 VOTE CENTER LOCATIONS.  Early voting February 21 - March 8, 2018.  Register by February 12, 2018.

May 1, 2018 - County Primary Election - Early voting April 11 - April 26, 2018.   Register by April 2, 2018.

August 2, 2018 - Primary Election for federal, state, city of Murfreesboro, and General Election for county.   

Early voting July 13 - July 28, 2018.   Register by July 3, 2018.

November 6, 2018 - General Election for federal, state, and municipalities of Eagleville, LaVergne, & Smyrna.  VOTE AT ANY OF 28 VOTING CENTERS.   Early voting October 17 - November 1, 2018.  Register by October 9, 2018.

If Voting on Election Day, check your Voter Registration Card for your Precinct Polling Location; however Voter Registration Card is not required to be shown. You can check on your Polling Location at http://www.election.rutherfordcountytn.gov/precinct.htm

Photo I.D. issued by Federal Government or Tennessee State Government, either current or expired is required. No Student I.D.'s will be accepted. 

Name or Address Changes within the County require New Voter Registration.

If you have not voted in the previous two November elections (Since 2008) you should register as you may have been purged from the County Voting rolls. 

Absentee Voting by mail requests require signed request to be received at Election Commission by October 29, 2018. (7 days before Election)
